Staying Rooted | Girls Retreat 2018

This past weekend at Girls Retreat we talked about what it means to be rooted in our faith. We planted the sweetest succulents. We danced to crazy karaoke. We learned from awesome breakout leaders. And we laughed while eating ice cream and waffles. (Ok...some of us spewed due to laughing too much...but that's besides the point.)

Girls Retreat was a weekend to rest in the Lord, to remember what it means to live out abiding in Christ. There's freedom in growing in Christ. And our hope and prayer is that girls were set free to build a relationship with God and to live free from anything hindering them from establishing deep roots.

A few favorite things about this weekend:

1. So many people covered us in prayer. I am forever grateful for my family, friends, students, and co-workers who have been praying over this weekend all semester. It's incredible.

2. Small group leaders led breakout sessions and the girls loved it! I love that they got to pick a topic that interested them. And I love that we built relationships outside their normal small groups.

3. We planted the cutest succulents! And the girls named them. What a funny thing!

4. College girls wrote a devo that the girls left with. Our hope was that we would not only have a great weekend, but that our girls would continue to live out their relationships with Christ after the weekend was over. So we created a devo! And college girls wrote it. It makes my heart the happiest. (:

I'm so thankful for this past weekend, for the women and girls that I get to do ministry with, and that God has placed me in this ministry. It's been the most fun!

Today marks the first day of our devo. I'd love for you to join us in studying God's Word!
